Changing someone’s life can be easy… Texting while driving…

Untitled-2 copy

Everyday we get the opportunity to live life and make the most of it…. on better days we also get the opportunity to make others smile… Clearly we are empowered to make a difference every single day. Crazy to think how every action has a reaction, this is very true and often not taken seriously.  We take the little things for granted but what if I said tomorrow morning you can save someone’s life ? Certainly you would listen, life is precious !

I’ll be the first to admit, I am hooked to my phone every waking hour… my drive to work consist of a series of calls. At the office;  I’ll be emailing, texting and answering calls simultaneously. Our phone has become our connection to the world… it has become the  way we live, the way we express ourselves. Technology is really changing the way we use these tools. Bluetooth has really improved the use of the cellphone in our cars…  I can’t blame someone for answering a call when the average commute to work is 30-45 minutes…  I use my phone throughout my car ride, using voice recognition tools and voice texting has enabled me to do this..  even with this,  I will admit it can get distracting…

Well about a week ago I saw a video which made me stop and think… since that day, i get in the car, plug my car to the charger and lock it in my glove box….  Yes, it may seem childish, I feel this is the only way curiosity will not get the best of me. My blue tooth will still accept calls, and can still outcall… but my fingers won’t touch that screen until my car stops…. One glimpse, will make a difference. The video states the obvious, watching it makes you realize how selfish we can be.  On another note, we also realize how easily we can improve ourselves and make it right. Let’s learn from other’s mistakes.

I invite you to watch the following documentary created by  by Werner Herzog. More importantly, I invite you to throw your phone in the glove box while driving, and yes, save someones life.

GM High Tech Reviews ACS Splitter and Rockers

Our 2012 Chevy Camaro SS Project Adds a Front Splitter and New Side Rockers
he fifth-gen Camaro’s factory SS front-end is simply boring, at least when compared to the Z/28, ZL1, or even the 1LE. We wanted to give our 2012 SS a serious nose job, so we teamed up with the Advanced Composite Specialties (ACS) in the last issue of Camaro Now for a more aggressive, and aerodynamically altering front split

First puplic photograph of Vuhl05

As the launch of the VUHL05 nears the anticipation is growing. Launch will take place at this year’s Goodwood Festival. Be sure to stay tuned as images of the car leak out. Featured this week on Jalopnik is a frontal view of the beast.

The VŪHL 05 Is A Canadian-Mexican Lightweight Supercar

The VŪHL 05 is a Mexican supercar that uses a body made in Canada, Michelin tires and most likely Ford power. Expect lightweight construction and a debut at Goodwood next month.P

Not much has been revealed so far about Mexico’s newest shot at the supercar market, but one thing is certain: VŪHL (Vehicles of Ultra High-performance and Lightweight) will be misspelled in print as VÜHL at some point.P

The 05 is the brainchild of brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, who’s experience comes from their father, a veteran GT and formula racing car builder. The car is expected to have Ford power and a track-focused setup, but it will be road legal in order to stay on the practical side of the lot.

Sema 2012, Favorite Picks

Sema is the Specialty Equipment Market Association, every year Sema organizes its annual show in Las Vegas. It has built a reputation for being  the most comprehensive gathering of customized vehicles. From Exotics to 4Wheelers, from muscle cars to sport compacts everything can be seen and only the imagination can limit what you can find.

I have been attending Sema for over 12 years, and will say Sema 2012 is by far the best one in recent years. Attendance seemed to be higher than usual and the build quality as reached a new level. You can appreciate how builders are modifying cars while keeping OEM quality in fit and finish, our industry is evolving as consumer demand on performance and quality grows. Unlike other years, I can’t say a single car dominated the floor; we always had a Camaro year, A SUV Year, JDM years or even a Mustang year. All cars were well represented and Sema members showcased many interpretations on how specialty products can improve your business. Below are a few of my favourites, follow my link to my full image library from our web-store.
